More on 10-Day Letters...
Ten-day letters should not be sent once a job is over 60 days as we don't want to add another 10 days to the job. The job is already extremely late at that point. Ten-day letters should be sent out in the first 40 days, and can be used proactively, as a tool, to prompt the insured into responding to the audit request.
Ten-day letters, when needed, should be sent to both the insured and to the agent.
Ten-day letters are not for use with all Carriers, check Carrier Requirements in Nexus prior to sending a 10-day letter. We know Comp/Star and PEI don’t want us using 10-Day Letters. Their Carrier Requirements give you specific instructions of what to do.
Additional questions regarding 10-day letters should be directed to Bob.
