Basically, what it comes down to is 8741 is used for leasing agents who have no duties other than showing properties, writing up lease contracts, misc office work, and have no supervisory duties what so ever. They also primarily work exclusively on-site. 8740 leasing agents would typically work off-site, and their duties might include managing other properties and supervising employees or contract labor at various properties.
